Meet Rosa:

I can help you get fit and strong.

I’m all about defining the most effective route to your fitness and lifestyle goals—and then designing awesome, individualized workouts to take you there. I will lead you through exercises I’ve personalized to your specific body and fitness level. You can be sure I’ll teach you the proper form to keep you safe, and accelerate your progress.

My clients achieve real results. They love developing strength, flexibility, and stamina—and how this lets them show up for all the meaningful activities and relationships in their life.

I welcome you whether you’re a dedicated athlete or are new to personal training. Count on me to challenge and encourage you. I can also help you figure out the best foods to eat to support your training, provide you with a nutrition plan and even prepare meals.

My Credentials and Approach:

I’m a NASM certified personal trainer, massage therapist, and physical therapy aid.

My approach is based on thirty years of experience as a fitness instructor, personal trainer, fitness competitor, aquatic trainer, team athletic trainer, and nutritional meal planner. I have twenty-plus years of expertise in therapeutic and sports massage, and eight years of experience as a massage instructor.  I established my own fitness business teaching aerobics at age 18, and then added personal training, outdoor fun bootcamp-style workouts, and team athletic training.

After completing my two-year certificate program to become a physical therapy aid, I worked for eight years at ATP Physical Therapy and Training in South Pasadena. There I worked as a fitness instructor, and led clients 1:1 through their PT-approved exercises. It’s at ATP I developed my specialized experience in women’s health and corrective exercise for pelvic floor issues and pelvic prolapse.

My expertise helps me keep you and your body safe and resilient. You may have had a training injury in the past. I want to minimize that happening again for you when we’re working together, or when you're exercising on your own. I’ve had to come back from a non-training injury myself after a car accident several years ago, so I’m sensitive to the courage, and careful step-by-step approach and commitment it takes to make your way back, and be even stronger and more resilient.

I’ve been featured in and on ESPN, Fit TV, KTLA5 Live, Flex Magazine, Daily News, the Donny and Marie Osmond Talk Show, ESPN2, Oxygen Magazine, Valley Magazine; No Ho Newspaper, and Your Health Connection Magazine. I hosted my own fitness TV show in Boston, and have designed and presented a variety of Boot Camps Los Angeles, Santa Barbara, Catalina, Palm Springs, Simi Valley, Maui and Boston.

On a more personal note, I grew up around fitness. My father Miguel was a professional bodybuilder from the time I was a child. Whenever I compete in a fitness competition, I have my dad’s inspiration with me, and I’m proud that I’ve passed a love of movement and fitness on to my daughters. I got into fitness for myself during my last year in high school when I began exercising regularly, dropped thirty pounds, developed lean muscle, and found my calling. I love what I do, and want to help you discover—or rediscover— that exhilarating energy that comes from getting and feeling fit.

My Superpower:

Creativity. I’m always developing new exercises—and new ways to do old exercises—to keep you physically and mentally motivated, without overworking any one area. This is how you create lasting change, and make fitness a part of who you are,

Humanity. I genuinely care about my clients’ well being. I see you as a human being—not just a body to be sculpted. I’ll connect with you and learn a bit about your life, while keeping focused on the exercise at hand.

Vibe. I bring a positive energy. While you’ll work hard, I’ll be keeping things dynamic, supportive, and kind.

Preparation. I’ve got deep and wide expertise in exercise physiology, functional anatomy and alignment, injury prevention and recovery, nutrition, training, and massage.
